What the 1,600,000 VND transport price covers
The base price on our booking form is the transport chain: 1,600,000 VND per person for the full island-to-border loop. That one figure covers more than a boat ticket. It pays for your pickup point in Duong Dong, the fast ferry across to Ha Tien (about 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes), the private car waiting on the Ha Tien side, and the 8 km drive to the Xa Xia international border crossing, which runs 15 to 20 minutes in normal traffic. It also covers the return coordination: border transfer back to the ferry terminal, your seat on the afternoon ferry, and the drop-off on Phu Quoc. Most people are back in Duong Dong by late afternoon, about 9-11 hours after the 05:30 pickup.
The point of the flat per-person price is that you never haggle with a ferry counter or a taxi driver mid-run. Tickets and seats are sorted before the day starts, and someone on the ground is tracking the schedule so the car is there when the ferry docks.

The Cambodia side: visa handling vs the border fee
Two separate Cambodia costs get confused, so let's split them. First is the actual visa. Most nationalities get a Cambodia visa on arrival at Prek Chak for around US$30-35, paid in cash at the window. That money goes to the Cambodian immigration officers and it is never part of our service price.
Second is the handling service, listed at 1,100,000 VND on the booking form. That covers someone checking your nationality against current Cambodia entry rules before the run, having your forms and payment sorted, and guiding you through the border so the crossing itself does not eat an hour of fumbling. For most people it is the difference between a relaxed 10 minute crossing and standing at a window trying to remember which form is which.
Bring US dollars or Vietnamese dong for the border fee. Small notes are easier; immigration desks rarely have change for large bills.

The whole reason most people do a visa run is to reset their Vietnam stay. If you need a fresh 90-day stamp when you re-enter, add the e-visa option to your booking. Single entry is 2,400,000 VND and multiple entry is 3,100,000 VND per person. The application is submitted as part of the run so the approval lines up with your re-entry, and you upload a passport photo and portrait during booking.
A note specific to Phu Quoc: the island runs its own 30-day visa exemption for many nationalities, a special economic zone rule that is separate from the mainland's 45-day exemption. So a run here is usually about two things: travelers who have already used their island exemption window, and e-visa holders who need to activate or extend the validity of a 90-day visa. If you are not sure which bucket you fall into, tell us your passport and arrival date on WhatsApp before booking.

Doing it yourself, honestly
You can absolutely do this run solo. The ferry from Duong Dong to Ha Tien is public, taxis wait at the Ha Tien terminal, and the Xa Xia border is open to walk-in travelers. Your costs would be a ferry ticket, a car or taxi to the border and back, the Cambodia visa fee, and the return ferry. On paper that can come in under what a service charges.
The catch is timing. The ferry runs a limited schedule, the border has its own hours, and the return ferry does not wait for anyone. Miss one connection and you are looking at an overnight in Ha Tien plus another ferry fare the next morning, which wipes out the savings. Solo runs also mean handling Cambodia visa forms yourself at the window with no one to ask when a rule has changed.
